After eating alphabet soup, a family dog gains the ability to speak. She eagerly communicates her opinions to anyone willing to listen; but due to being unaccustomed with social nuances of speech (such as knowing when it’s best to stop talking!), Martha finds herself in comically sticky situations. Helen will need to teach Martha her responsibilities associated with this new ability in order for Martha not to misuse this newfound power.
