Pepa is a Madrigal woman with the ability to alter the weather according to her emotions. She is devoted mother to her children and deeply cares for her family; though her quick emotional shifts may lead to conflicts between family members, Pepa remains loving and forgiving; when Alma apologized sincerely to Pepa and the rest of the family she quickly accepted it and forgave Alma without delay.
Pepa can be rather impatient and dramatic at times, offering her husband Felix an unexpected challenge. When feeling nervous, Pepa strokes her braid while repeating “Clear skies!” to help herself manage her emotions. Pepa is very energetic when feeling happy; dancing often helps release pent-up energy. Additionally, she dotes upon Isabela and Luisa as if they were her own daughters.
Pepa seems pleased that Julieta and Mariano Guzman have begun dating, as well as being attracted to Antonio’s gift ceremony ceremony for him.
Pepa and Bruno share an uneasy relationship, with Pepa enforcing her “We don’t talk about Bruno” rule. When he returned, she immediately ran up to him and hugged him tightly; though she is slightly jealous of his talent she also respects him and works to make their relationship work; occasionally they fight over it or both express frustration toward one another directly. Their tension between each other becomes evident as they sometimes lash out.
